Porsche For Dummies: The 911 Line Up

With the popularity of the 911 reaching new heights, you may have wondered what exactly is the difference between all the variants of 911. On the outside, they kinda do look the same to the untrained eye, however each variant is designed with the sole purpose in mind centered around the driver to deliver a feeling  tailored for that particular variant. There’s the Carrera, Carrera T, Targras, GTS, Tagra GTS, Turbos, GT3, and GT2 RS. There is also the 911R but we won’t really get into that on this one. Under each category – for example the Carrera – there are subcategories (S, Cabriolet, S Carbriolet, 4, 4S, 4Cabriolet,GTS, Turbo, etc) all with different levels of technology and power.

A quick look on Porsche website confirms that there is a total of 24 different 911’s that you can currently buy. That can be a bit overwhelming if you are in the market looking to buy your first 911. So Porsche created this four minute video to help explain the history of the 911, and help clear the air on all the 911 variants.
