The Last Front Engine Corvette C7 Headed To Auction And Sold For $2.7 Million USD

With GM finally making it official that indeed yes, there will be a next generation of Corvettes and the C8 will in fact be mid-engine, the C7 days are all but numbered.

To celebrate the occasion and monumental shift in philosophy, GM sent it’s final front engine, 2019 Z06 C7 to the Barrett-Jackson Northeast auction. Well – technically it wasn’t the final final one that rolled across the block since they haven’t built the final one yet, but a model that will have similar features took its place for the time being.

When the hammer dropped, the final bid was an astonishing $2.7 million USD. One might argue about whether a normal C7 is really worth that much as a historical piece, but all the proceeds will go to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Tower Foundation. The foundation was established to help pay off mortgages for the families of first responders that were killed in the line of duty.

The final C7 rolls of the assembly just a couple of weeks before the C8’s official debut on July 18th.
