Mark Your Calendars: The 2020 Porsche Taycan Is Around The Corner

The EV revolution is upon us and Porsche is poised to finally jump into the fray with its first all-electric model – the 2020 Porsche Taycan. As of now, Porsche hasn’t revealed most of its cards , but what we do know about the Taycan is it should be able to sprint from 0 – 100 kph (62 mph) in under 3.5 seconds, have a top speed over 155 mph, and have a gross capacity of around 90 kWh. For reference, the Tesla Model S has 100 kWh.

The Taycan’s estimated range is still unknown to all besides Porsche, but the company has stated that the 800-volt system “delivers continuous high power and charging capacities to enable both fast driving and fast loading, while also reducing the weight of the high-voltage cabling.” Call us intrigued.

The Taycan’s global debut will be live-streamed on the company’s dedicated online TV microsite on September 4th, 2019. Porsche also revealed that the Taycan will make simultaneous showings at three key locations: China, Canada, and Germany.
